Scientists have proven that project-based learning is more effective than textbooks. Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. I did an interview with some of my classmates named Dylan, Racheal, and Lilly. I got their opinions about PBL (project- based learning)
I asked them how they felt about PBL and they all responded with a good answer. Dylan said, “ I think that PBL is more of a learning environment and textbooks make students bored.” Racheal said, “ I think PBL is such a good class, because you work in groups instead of working alone. You get things done faster.” Lilly said, “ I like it, because you are engaged. You know what you are doing, because the teachers explain it better.” Then, I asked them if they think that PBL is more effective than Textbooks. Dylan said, “Yes.” Racheal also said, “Yes.” Lilly said, “ Yes, I think that PBL is more effective than TBL ( textbook learning), because you forget things that you have learned in TBL.”
Finally, I asked them if PBL has taught them more than TBL. Dylan said, “ Definitely.” Racheal said, “Yes, because TBL doesn’t teach me as much. I’ve learned how to build a planter box with PBL.” Lilly said, “Yes. This class has taught me more than TBL, because we have been doing projects and it has been helping me. I made this PBL page because I am in a PBL classroom. The projects that we finished are the Newton's Cradle, Respect skits, Planter boxes, Pay it forward, Footbridge model, Mural, Biomes, Poetry, Native American narrative, Let's get cooking, Timelines of the US, Flood plan, Newspaper article, City Comparison, and the Road trip map. This website is part of a project that we are working on now.
